Practitioners on Echo

Use the search above to narrow by area of support, language, or location.

Listing order reflects whether a practitioner is currently verifiable on a public professional register, then how complete each profile is, then Echo membership level, and — where those are equal — who joined Echo first. Every practitioner listed meets the same directory standard. Position is position, not a judgement about a practitioner — please read profiles in full to decide who feels right for you.

Most people who come to me are carrying something they do not say out loud. Anxiety that has become background noise. Grief that arrived at the wrong time. Burnout they have been calling tiredness. Or a change in circumstance that has quietly rearranged everything, and no obvious place to put it. If any of that is familiar, this is the kind of work I do. I am a trauma-informed psychological counsellor. I work with anxiety and panic, trauma and its after-effects, burnout and chronic overwhelm, grief and bereavement, difficulty regulating emotion, self-worth and identity, and the disorientation that follows a major life change: a relationship ending, a career shift, a relocation, a loss. I work with individuals, with couples, and with organisations. With couples, that usually means communication that has stopped working, the same argument repeating in different clothes, disconnection, or rebuilding trust after betrayal. I work with bilingual and intercultural couples, in English and in Spanish. With organisations, it means supporting the wellbeing of people working under sustained pressure. Twelve years of practice, across the NHS and in private practice. The NHS years shaped how I work: at volume, with complexity, and with real accountability for what happens to people. What you get from that is a way of working that is warm but not vague. I will ask you questions more often than I will hand you answers, because most people I meet do not need more information. They need room to think clearly, and someone who stays with them while they do. What I hope you leave with is not a version of yourself somebody else designed. It is clarity, steadier ground under you, more confidence in your own judgement, and change that holds after the sessions end. My psychotherapy work happens inside a defined therapeutic relationship, informed by recognised training, professional standards and ethical accountability. Where I offer personal-development or reflective work outside psychotherapy, I name it as such, so you always know which room you are in.

Hi, I’m James. I’m a person-centred counsellor offering a warm, down-to-earth space where you can talk openly about whatever is going on for you, without judgement or pressure. I work with people experiencing anxiety, stress and burnout, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life changes, or simply a sense that something isn’t quite right and they’d like to understand themselves better. My approach is primarily person-centred, which means I won’t tell you what you should do or try to fit you into a particular way of thinking. Instead, we’ll work together to explore what’s happening for you, at a pace that feels right. Where it’s helpful, I can also draw on practical ideas and tools to help you understand patterns, manage difficult emotions and find ways forward. I know starting counselling can feel daunting, particularly if you’ve never tried it before. You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what to say or what you want to work on. We can begin wherever you are.

When life feels overwhelming, its ok to pause. Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and however you're arriving here - carrying depression, stress, low self-esteem, addiction, family or relationship issues - therapy together will provide a safe, supportive space for you to understand your inner world and how it shapes your life.  Our work will support you to process the past and gain clarity in the present. Through building self-awareness in both mind and body, it becomes possible to make more conscious choices, strengthen resilience and move forward with a greater sense of self-trust, direction, and empowerment. I believe it is truly possible to find or recover a sense of ease within yourself. However difficult things feel right now, I aim to support you to find this place and move towards a fulfilling, authentic life. Experiences such as emotional abuse, bullying, bereavement, addiction, stress, loneliness or challenging childhood experiences can leave us feeling trapped in painful patterns. My role is to help you explore what is happening beneath the surface, empowering you to move beyond the familiar with fresh insights that allow for real change. We will work at your pace, in a space where all of you is welcome. How I Work I am a trauma-informed Integrative Counsellor qualified to work with a wide range of mental health challenges. I am also trained in Psychospiritual Counselling which means I am able to draw dynamically on both evidence-based psychology alongside holistic approaches. I have experience working with the following modalities: Gestalt, CBT, DBT, Person-Centred Therapy, Emotional-focused therapy, Psychosynthesis, Ecopsychology and Transpersonal Approaches.  As a meditator of over a decade and having worked with therapies that support connection with our bodies (dance, yoga, breathwork) I often bring in supportive tools that you can utilise to self-regulate and better manage your emotions and experiences. I draw on techniques like mindfulness, somatic experiencing, body-awareness and emotional-focussed therapy to support the work. It is through exploring our challenges on all levels that I believe the deepest healing can take place.  A practical approach to lasting change: ·        A safe, non-judgemental space to be heard - slow down, build self-awareness and clarity. ·        Uncover the root causes of your current challenges ·        Break patterns that no longer serve you and build habits that do ·        Work with mind and body – this is not just talking. We will use experimentation and support you to learn tools that translate into real shifts in your daily life. ·        Our work focuses on insight and practical change, helping you develop new ways of relating to yourself and others. Therapy with me may support you to: Understand and reduce anxiety, GAD, panic attacks, and social anxiety. Work through depression, low mood, shame, and self-criticism. Improve self-esteem, self-confidence, and emotional regulation. Explore relationship issues, attachment patterns, and identity. Address addiction, unhealthy habits, compulsive behaviours. Heal from trauma and challenging childhood experiences. Navigate life transitions, divorce and separation, career stress, burnout, insomnia, loss or bereavement. Reconnect with meaning, values, and a sense of direction. Who I Work With I embrace all aspects of humanness and warmly welcome diversity in all its forms, including LGBTQ+ clients, neurodivergent individuals, and those exploring identity, spirituality, or alternative relationship structures such as non-monogamy and polyamory. I strive to ensure therapy feels safe, inclusive, affirming, and collaborative - I look forward to exploring together how we can tailor this work to support your individual needs. Wherever you’re at right now, I believe with the right support, real change is possible….

Leadership Coach

English · Online · Online sessions

I work with experienced senior leaders who are capable and successful, but who have reached a point where work no longer feels as straightforward as it once did. They may have lost confidence in themselves, be questioning their judgement or direction, feel exhausted by the pressure they are carrying, or be navigating organisational change, a difficult leadership environment or a significant career decision. Often, they are still performing well on the outside while privately wondering why they no longer feel like capable, confident and fulfilled at work. My coaching helps them understand what is really going on beneath that experience, reconnect with their strengths and values, and rebuild trust in their own judgement and leadership. From there, we work practically on whatever they need next, whether that is leading differently, creating stronger boundaries, navigating change, making a career decision or simply finding a more sustainable way to work. My approach is grounded in more than 20 years working in HR, organisational development and senior leadership, alongside my professional coach training. I understand both the organisational context leaders are operating within and the very human experience of trying to remain effective when confidence, energy or certainty has started to disappear. I don’t believe good coaching is about turning someone into a different kind of leader. It is about helping them understand themselves well enough to stop constantly adapting, second-guessing or overriding what they already know, so they can lead with greater confidence, clarity and trust in themselves. I am a trained burnout coach, and my coaching is built on a foundation of neuroscience and lived experience.

Who can connect with a practitioner?

Echo supports both independent users and practitioner-supported journeys.

A practitioner connection is available only through an invitation from a practitioner using Echo's professional workspace. This ensures every connection represents a genuine therapeutic relationship and that shared journals, reflections, and between-session support remain secure, intentional, and private.

If you have not received an invitation, you can continue using Echo independently with full access to your personal journals, reflections, and wellbeing tools.

For professionals

Focus on your practice. Echo helps your professional presence get discovered.

How to search Echo's practitioner directory

Describe what you would like support with in your own words. The directory maps everyday phrases — burnout, grief, feeling stuck, relationship communication, workplace stress — to the areas of work each practitioner has listed on their profile. You can refine by how you would like to meet, the language you would like to work in, and where you are located.

Online and in-person sessions

Some practitioners work online, some in person, some both. When you search for in-person support, the directory matches practitioners based on the country and city or region listed on their profile. When you search online, practitioners who have listed specific service regions are matched to those regions, and practitioners who work online without regional restrictions may appear for any location. A city is never required for an online search.

Languages and service locations

Language filters use the languages each practitioner has said they can work in. As more practitioners join the directory, the range of languages and service locations grows. If your language or region is not represented yet, that is a real limit of the current directory rather than a hidden result.

How practitioner profiles are reviewed

Practitioners submit professional details and supporting credential or licence information for review before publication. We encourage you to review their profile, credentials and approach directly to decide whether they are the right fit for you.

A visibility directory for independent practitioners

Echo Journey helps suitable practitioners become easier to discover. Each practitioner sets and manages their own services, fees, availability and client relationships directly.
