Echo Journey
Frequently asked questions
What Echo is, what it costs, what happens to what you write, and how practitioners work inside it. If something here is unclear, the pricing page sets out every plan in full.
Plans and billing
Is Echo Journey free?
No. Every new personal account begins with a 30-day trial that gives you the full personal experience. There is no free plan after that: when the trial ends the account locks until you continue on a paid plan.
What happens when my 30-day trial ends?
Your account locks rather than quietly downgrading. Nothing you have written is deleted, and it becomes available again as soon as you continue on Echo Essential or Echo Plus.
How much does Echo cost?
Echo Essential is £9.99 a month. Echo Plus is £25 a month and adds voice journaling and more room. For practitioners, Directory Pro is £49.99 a month and Full Echo Practitioner is £79.99 a month.
What is the difference between Echo Essential and Echo Plus?
Essential is the full personal reflective space in writing. Plus includes everything in Essential and adds voice journaling, for people who want to speak as well as write. A one-off Voice Boost of ten extra minutes is £9.99 and requires Plus.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Plans are monthly and you can change or cancel yours from the billing portal in your account. Cancelling stops future payments; it does not erase what you have written.
Using Echo
What is Echo Journey?
Echo is a reflective writing and self-observation space. You write, and Echo notices patterns across what you write over time, so you can see your own thinking more clearly.
Is Echo therapy?
No. Echo is not therapy, not diagnosis, and not crisis support, and it does not replace working with a practitioner. If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line in your country.
Do I need to write every day for Echo to be useful?
No. Echo is built around noticing rather than streaks. Patterns become visible across weeks, not from writing on consecutive days.
What are guided journals and therapeutic journeys?
They are structured sequences of reflection, written by a qualified psychotherapist, that you move through at your own pace. They are available in English and Spanish.
Privacy and your writing
Who can read what I write?
You can. Nothing you write is shared with anyone unless you explicitly choose to share it — for example, when you connect with a practitioner and grant access to a specific entry.
Is my writing used to create public content?
No. Personal entries are never published, quoted, or turned into articles, social posts, or examples. Public Echo content is written from general psychological material, never from anyone's journal.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. You can request an export of your account data or the deletion of your account from your profile settings, and the request is recorded and actioned.
For practitioners
What do practitioners get with Echo?
Directory Pro (£49.99 a month) provides a public profile in the Echo Practitioner Directory. Full Echo Practitioner (£79.99 a month) includes that profile and the Echo Practitioner Workspace for working with connected clients.
How are practitioners verified?
Directory publication follows credential and profile review. Registration with a professional body, a credential, and a membership are recorded as separate facts, and Echo only displays what it has actually verified.
Can a practitioner see everything a client writes?
No. A client shares specific entries deliberately, and can end that access at any time. Clinical notes a practitioner writes are private to that practitioner.
A note on what Echo is
Echo is a reflective writing and self-observation space. It is not therapy, not diagnosis, not crisis support, and not a replacement for working with a practitioner. If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line in your country.
