Most practitioner platforms support the work after a client arrives: clinical tools, supervision, documentation, professional development. Those things matter, but they do not address a central source of practitioner stress — not knowing where the next clients will come from, or whether income will remain consistent.
Practitioners join several platforms, complete the same profile again and again, follow rules that keep changing, and remain dependent on referrals controlled by companies they do not own. Your profile is published into the directory and its surrounding content structure, where search engines and AI systems can find, read and reference it.
How your listing appears
Practitioners are ordered by whether they are currently verifiable on a public professional register, then by how complete their profile is, then by membership level, then by when they joined. A fuller profile appears higher and gives people more to decide from.
Search works differently: someone searching for a specific difficulty sees the practitioners who work with it first. This order decides who appears first when people browse.

A listing is free and stays free. Everything in the first list below is included on a free listing. The second list is what a paid membership adds — it is set out here so nothing is discovered after you have joined.

The client decides what you can see
Echo does not hand you a client's private journal. Nothing reaches you unless the client explicitly shares it, item by item — and they can withdraw that access at any time. You see what supports the work, and nothing beyond it.

- Who is the directory for?
- Qualified practitioners working across psychotherapy, counselling, clinical hypnotherapy, coaching and wellbeing. Echo does not restrict the directory to a single modality, but it does expect professional standing in your own jurisdiction.
- Does Echo take a commission on clients?
- No, on any tier. Echo is a visibility service, not a marketplace, and takes no part in your fees or client agreements. On a free listing enquiries reach you through Echo’s enquiry form; with a membership your own contact and booking links appear on your profile.
- Is a listing really free?
- Yes, and it stays free. What a membership adds is direct contact from your profile, your website and booking link on your listing, earlier release of enquiry details and placement above free listings. A free listing is not a trial and nothing is taken away from it.
- Do I need to use the rest of Echo?
- No. Directory visibility stands on its own. The wider Echo reflection tools are separate and entirely optional.
